Long Street
An inspired renovation of a four-bedroom house in an inner-city bayside town, Long Street balances fun and functionality with ease. The family home underwent a significant transformation, retaining its heritage while making room for entertainment and more colour.
The brief was twofold – demolish and rebuild the rear of the home to create a spacious area filled with an abundance of natural light, and blend in sympathetic yet modern upgrades while removing dated Greco-Roman features.
With the clients being self-proclaimed “foodies” it was no surprise that the kitchen renovations were central to the home’s rejuvenation. The kitchen design transforms from a cramped, uninviting space into one that is practical and seamless, complete with a scullery and custom herb box suspended outside the kitchen window. This sentiment of entertaining echoes in the spirit of the street, with one neighbour known to drop espresso and homemade pizzas to the tradespeople working on the house throughout the build.
The result is a home that is a harmonious balance of the past and the present, offering a calm oasis for a busy family to retreat to.
