Appointed by Signature Custom Homes as the design lead on this ‘Design & Construct’ home, the house sits humbly within the streetscape, blending into the vernacular of the bayside suburb. The site boasts views of the river, a north-facing rear, three points of road access and a large sloping site.

Upon entry, there is an immediate sense of opulence. The Porte-cochere is a classic statement of grandeur and contrasts nicely with the rustic stone. Similarly, the crisp ‘dado’ render and warm timber batten adds a modern touch to the entry and create an inviting arrival. The entry hall and gallery spill out to the living areas which face north and overlook the river to the east. Designed as an entertainer’s house, the kitchen is the hub, and the living spaces pair off from there. Inside, timber floors and natural stone add a sense of warmth.

Numerous outdoor entertaining areas allow the client to entertain any number of guests and encourage outdoor living – there is a sports bar with a hidden cellar door, a formal lounge, a fire pit and a pizza oven and bar in the garden.
